I’m Going Solar

I’m so excited! I’m going solar.  Sungevity Solar will be making a long held dream possible.   About two years ago I met a representative from a solar company that rents solar panels.  They said they were a startup and not quite ready to provide the service.  Well, they kept my name and followed up with me.  The consultant, Chris, was very helpful.  We had e-mail and phone discussions for an entire month.  I really wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing.  He answered every question, was very patient, understood my concerns and applied NO pressure.   I finally took the leap.  I’ll be saving energy, saving money and doing my part to save the planet.  It is truly a no brainer.

Sungevity is offering a referral bonus to my contacts so I want to spread the word to you.

With solar, you can save thousands on your utility bill, hedge against rising rates, promote energy independence and reduce your family’s household footprint – with no money out of pocket.
AND, Sungevity will give you a $500 gift card just for being referred by me.

The process is simple – and takes about two minutes. When you apply for an iQuote, you’ll see what your house will look like with solar panels, how much money you’ll save and the positive impact on the environment you’ll make.  It’s good for you, good for your wallet, and good for the planet!
Here are the steps:
1.) Go to

2.) Enter your address and information.  After you’ve applied for your iQuote, type in my referral code #35567 so you can get your $500 referral bonus (upon connection).
3.) In 24 hours, you’ll receive your free, no obligation iQuote in your email inbox.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Go Solar!

Welcome to Greeley Green!

Welcome to Greeley Green! Here I will be talking about everything from saving money, greening your home, and events in Northern Colorado that promote the environment. Stay tuned for more!

But first, let me introduce myself…

My name is Hollis Berendt, and I live in Greeley, Colorado. I have a passion to protect and defend the only home we all share, and to teach others how they can do the same. I am dedicated to protecting this home for all of our children’s, children’s, children. Being an EcoBroker® and an independent contractor for Green Irene, has allowed me to share this enthusiasm with others who wish to create welcoming homes while being responsible consumers of our earth’s limited resources. As an EcoBroker®, my education makes me uniquely qualified to present the energy features of the home and help attract qualified buyers. I’m able to promote energy-efficient features in homes that will enable buyers to save on energy costs, have a healthier home and be kinder to the environment. I am a valuable resource because my training on energy and environmental issues gives me an advantage, with more knowledge and awareness of the basics and available resources than the standard real estate licensee. As an EcoConsultant for Green Irene, I am able to provide practical information that will help families to save money, save energy, live more comfortably and with a healthier lifestyle, while reducing their carbon footprint. I can also help those who manage offices and businesses reduce expenses and increase profits.

I was a teacher prior to 1996 when I became a licensed Realtor®. In 1997 I received the GRI, Graduate of the Realtors Institute designation, and in 2006 became EcoBroker® certified. I was top sales agent at CENTURY 21 The Platinum Group 1999 and top agent and Metro Brokers Stoll Realty in 2007. Within the past two years, I have written op-eds and offered workshops and given talks on energy, global warming, green sanctuary, ozone, and the environment, including topics ranging from the benefits of saving energy by winterizing your home, what happens to our trash, and how to reduce carbon emissions. I have also been involved in educating people about the dangers of uranium mining. I am a member of an international service organization called Weld Women’s Sertoma. Sertoma stands for service to mankind. This group of dedicated women, with one fund raiser per year, has donated thousands of dollars annually back to Greeley and Weld County. Organizations that have benefited from Weld Women’s Sertoma include, A Women’s Place, Habitat for Humanity, Transitional House, Connections for Independent Living, Weld Furniture Bank, Room at the Inn and many more. I am on the Citizens Planning Advisory Committee and several subcommittees including environment, growth, land use, and redevelopment in the City of Greeley. I am a commissioner on The Greeley Air Quality and Natural Resources Commission and a very happy Prius owner.
