Saturday April 30th at 4:00 View the film FRESH This is a FREE event Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley 929 15th St. Greeley
FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet. Clair Boyles of Boyles Family Farms will speak with us about the importance of family farms. After the film, we will share a meal of local foods. So far we have donated fresh spinach, salad greens, eggs, milk, ice cream, bread, butter, honey, rhubarb pie, gooseberry pie and preserved from last years bounty peaches, raspberries, pickles, tomatoes and jam. If you’d like to donate local cheese, beef or poultry or any of your preserved foods, please do so. This is not a requirement to attend. Please come with or without a donation.
At 7:00 we will watch the film GASLAND. Please contact me at 970-590-3289 if you have any questions. Come to all or part of this event.
